Automatically set button state depending on url - Macromedia Fireworks

Sorry if this question is answered elsewhere. I've searched but I'm afraid I haven't been able to find anything. I have created a nav bar in Fireworks which I would like to put in a Dreamweaver template. I currently use this nav bar in dozens of pages. Default Automatically set button state depending on url

Sorry if this question is answered elsewhere. I've searched but I'm afraid I haven't been able to find anything.

I have created a nav bar in Fireworks which I would like to put in a Dreamweaver template. I currently use this nav bar in dozens of pages. If I have to change something I have to change it individually on each page, which is very tedious. Instead, I would like to place this nav bar in the template that these pages are based upon so I only have to change it once.

The important thing is that I would like this nav bar to set the button states depending on which page it is on.

Let's say that in their up state the buttons are all normally blue, and in their over/down/over while down states the buttons are normally red. I'd like the up state to be set depending upon which page this nav bar is on. So when the actual page is loaded (not the templage) it checks something like this (in English code):

If url = Page1.htm then
button1 up state = red
all other buttons up state = blue
else if url = Page2.htm then
button2 up state = red
all other buttons up state = blue
else...

Is this possible? How do I do this? Thank you for your help.

You can see the nav bars in their current configuration at http://www.strategicworkforce.com/client/legal_what_to_know.htm. See the left and right nav bars.

I am having the same issue.

I looks like the only way to use the option in the button editor is to export for multiple pages in the advanced export options. But then it appears that you have to go into each page and load the page specific html. It really does seem to mute the whole idea of templates for managing a huge site.

Please, if there is a way to make the down and down while over states work with templates in DW please please tell!!!

thank you!!--Luwana
