    Thanks Manuel that was most helpful.

    I have lots of columns, all numbered. Is there a way i could create then increment a variable within a loop to display all the averages of each column?

    check Tom Muck's Horizontal Looper extension

    used but may be it can help

    anyway, you could store the recordset in an array:

    rsArray = rs.GetRows()

    and then loop through records and columns with 2 nested IF's. there's a
    detailed example in ASP101.com
