I am faced with redesigning the buttons on this page. See screenshot at URL

I need to redesign the dark blue title images in such a way that they:

1. Look clickable
2. Are easy to identify if new ones are published (at the moment, any new
ones do not catch the eye as they all look the same).
3. Are very small filesizes
4. remain at around the same size, shape.

Any thoughts?
