Axis discrepancy strategy - Macromedia Director 3D

Can anyone suggest a strategy that deals with the axis discrepancy between 3DS Max and Director. I have got multiple 3D castmembers and clone models and motions from them at run time. My animations are all off by 90 degrees....

you could use a empty shockwave3D member that has been generated from the 3DSmax exporter. the coordinatesystem should be the one you need.

i never tested this but i think it should work.

i use plasma, kind of a 3dmax light... anyway it lets you adjust the pivot,
that's worked for me. in plasma click the heirarchy tab, then select affect
pivot only then rotate the pivot. if it's in plasma, it's almost surely in
    3dmax.

Cheers for all your advice. The best way for me was to set up the max views as
described in the tutorial above, thanks Americo. I then imported my models,
animated them and exported to W3D. When I imported to Director it worked first
    time.

I think your suggestion would work too Ex Malterra, but I couldn't get yours
to work hondo3000, though it would have been the simplest solution.
