My last order, a couple of weeks ago (and it was the first one using UPS),
took 3 days from NY to San Francisco.

purchase from B&H on Wednesday, July 2, it was shipped out that
afternoon via UPS 3-5 business day shipping. I recieved it the
following Tuesday, July 8, which, with the holiday and weekend, is the
third business day. Since it takes three business days to get all the
way across the country, I'm sure that 3-5 business day shipping could
arrive overnight to somewhere in the northeast.

option in both the follwoing cases. I ordered in April on a Monday, 3PM EST
and I received my order Thursday AM by Fedex. Then I ordered Sunday a week
ago, and received my order on Thursday, PM (due to lack of tracking info
that the package had already arrived). In essence the UPS order came one
day later, as I had ordered way before the cutoff time for Monday. Also I
do not like the tracking that UPS provides, as it is not real time. I
realize that we are talking about only a 1 day delay here, and may not be
statistically significant.. However I still think that Fedex is a class
act--I wish B&H went back to Fedex.

Re: B&H and UPS delivery speed
It all depends on where the UPS truck goes, and the amount of ca$h you
are willing to spend on shipping your package. B&H should provide you
with a tracking number, I guess?

Re: B&H and UPS delivery speed
Just for an example, when I get stuff on the three day plan on UPS from New York, it
goes from there to Pennsylvania, then to Nebraska, then to Kentucky, and finally to
Missouri. Screwed up kinda but that is how the trucks run.
I got an order from Amazon the other day on their "Super Saver Shipping" and It
didn't get shipped for three days, but when it did, I got it the next day. I guess
they have a store/warehouse in Oklahoma and it is very close to here. Of course I
suppose it could take all five days next time I buy something there.

1. They could deliver at any time of the day they feel like
delivering...even into the evening.
2. They do not have a good mechanism for picking up orders when you're not
home (Fed-Ex makes this simple).

And if you want them to leave it at your doorstep, leave a note instructing
them to do just that, and sign the note.

Re: B&H and UPS delivery speed
In my neck of the woods, Cleveland, Ohio, I don't have (and never had)
any problems with UPS.
Maybe good UPS service is to make up for a river that catches fire
and lake water suitable for making PX625A's.
