Back Up Files When Changed
Is there a way to back up files through Contribute when you have made a change
on the page(s)?
I want to be able to back them up on a desktop (and then on a CD or other
media).
The reason I am asking this is I developed a site for a client. She is using
Contribute and is happy with it. I have used it enough to understnad how to set
everything up for it in a combination of using Dreamweaver and hardcoding.
I use an FTP program and have access to the files. However, myclient shoudl be
able to back up her changes without me having to do back up every time se makes
a change.
I can't sem to find the system for this spelled out in Contribute Help (unless
i am using the wrong words to search). Thanks for any help.

Re: Back Up Files When Changed
I asked this question on one of the other Contribute Forums and got my answer.
If you have additional info to post, please do. Here are the answers:
In Contribute try File/Actions/Edit Page Source in External Application. This
will open the code in your default editor and allow you to save out the code to
your local drive.
Another option would be to browse to your page with your browser and Save As
(Firefox has a nice feature under Save As for "Save as type: Web Page,
complete" - this will grab the page code and all associated files used by that
page. Or you can just grab the HTML)
Or you could open Contribute so you are sure you have an updated cache and
then find the file on your local drive. Should be located somewhere like:
C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Application
Data\Macromedia\Contribute 3\Sites\Site#
==================
I was able to select "work offline", update the web page, then export it to my
c: drive. From the c: drive I could then copy it over to my server and
everything turned out fine.

Re: Back Up Files When Changed
Isn't that what the rollback feature is for?
