background / backdrop sync. - Macromedia Director 3D

Hi, How can you synchronize a background image (sprite) and a backdrop ? What I have is a movie that switches between 3D sprites and Quicktime movies. In the 3D sprite I have added a backdrop. Further, because I don't want to have a black screen between a switch, I also set the background image as a sprite. So if the 3D animation is done, I set that sprite to invisible. The movie shows the background image. But it is not exactly the same and it looks like the background seems to move a little. I know that director scales ...

    Default background / backdrop sync.

    Hi,

How can you synchronize a background image (sprite) and a backdrop ?

What I have is a movie that switches between 3D sprites and Quicktime movies. In the 3D sprite I have added a backdrop. Further, because I don't want to have a black screen between a switch, I also set the background image as a sprite. So if the 3D animation is done, I set that sprite to invisible. The movie shows the background image. But it is not exactly the same and it looks like the background seems to move a little.

I know that director scales textures so their width and height is a power of 2. So the first thing is to create a background image that already has a power of 2 dimension.
Next I guess I have to set some camera properties so the backdrop matches the sprite background. But I don't know how :(
Another question is if I should scale my background sprite to fill the stage or just position it in the upper left corner and 'cut of' a little from the bottom and from the right ?

Anyone who can help me ?
    Thanks in advance,

    Reznor

ps If you also know if the background in a Quicktime movie can be synchronized. That would be super !

Hiya! Take a look at the "faking background transparent" movie in the
source section of my site to see if fits your needs.

    Hi,

Thanks for the respons. I didn't had any time to work it out already, but your movie seems to work nice. With that code I'm quite sure I'll manage it.
