Background Color in InDesign
I am preparing a card for off site printing. I want the color of the card to be black, therefore, on the screen I want to have the background black. I am then going to be adding pictures and text on top.
I have done this before but now am lost!
Thanks

Re: Background Color in InDesign
drag a rectangle over the whole page and fill it with black. Then put your text frames and image frames on top of that.
Is that your question? Seems too easy, or maybe I'm misunderstanding.
Be sure to overlap the black rectangle on all four sides so there's a bleed. Ask your print vendor how much of a bleed they need. Whlle you're on the phone, see if they would prefer you use a rich black for this ... 40C100K for example, for full, even coverage.
Put your rectangle on a bottom layer and lock it, that way you won't accidentally select it while adding stuff on top.
