Default Backing Up Page Changes to Desktop

I want to be able to back up the page changes made through Contribute on to a
desktop so my clients can have the latest edited pages and not depend on the
hosting company as their only back up. Is this possible? Or, how is this
usually handled? I kmow they can send me a notice of a page change but I want
to lknow if they also can do back up.

Default Re: Backing Up Page Changes to Desktop

If you set up page rollbacks via Contribute's Administer Website> enable
Rollbacks, you can set this so that Contribute moves the current version into
the baks_folder, when the user publishes. However this folder is located on the
web server, so it might not solve your question. Another option is to have the
user view the page via their browser and save that copy locally.

Contribute does not have the same workflow as Dreamweaver, and you do not get
to define a local folder to modify and then upload to the web server to
publish. Some customers workaround this by hosting a staging server which is
their preproduction site before they push their content to a live site.
