Backup Utility Error Message
Hi
I am trying to use the backup utility in WinXP. I am using
tapes that have data from a Seagate application that was
running on a Win 98 system. I want to overwrite this data.
My drive is installed correctly and when I put one of the
Travan tapes in, it was detected, label and all.
However, I could not see any data on it, which is fine cos
I want to overwrite it anyway. The real problem is when I
go to back up some files, the back up operation begins by
rewinding the tape. As it is doing this, or perhaps before
it is able to complete this task, it gives me this error
message: "Device reported and error on a request to space
to end of data. Error reported: Invalid Command. There may
be a hardware or media problem. Please check event
log...blah blah blah". I have no idea where to start
resolving this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
