    Default Banding appearing in Indesign

A customer has supplied has with an 12 page Indesign file, which has gradients on every page. The same gradient is placed on the master page, so it will appear everywhere. Now when printing to film, 4 pages come out with banding, but the other 8 pages come out clean.

I have exported to pdf, I created a ps file and converted to pdf and I printed directly from Indesign to our Celebrant Rip, but on all three I get the same result.

I noticed on these pages there are pictures with drop shadows. These drop shadows are done from Indesign. Could drop shadows affect the ending result?

If so how can I fix it?

I'm using Indesign CS2 4.0.4, OSX 10.2.8. I'm printing to a Celenbrant rip in turn to print on a Fuji Device.

    Thanks

Default Re: Banding appearing in Indesign

Since the problem appears to be related to transparency flattening, what Transparency Flattener preset settings are you using? Especially, what is the setting for "Gradient and Mesh" resolution? Also, is your Celebrant RIP PostScript 3? If it is, be sure that you have selected PostScript 3 in the Print dialog box.
