    Default BG Eraser Retains Texture?

I was using the background eraser to erase a background on a scanned business card. It appeared to be working pefectly, until I added a layer under the layer I was working on, and filled it with white.

I could then see that the bg eraser had erased the background but kept the texture of the business card, which I did not want.

I used settings of continuous, 50%, protect foreground color, once. Does the bg eraser usually retain texture?

    Johnny,

You have to play with it to get your settings right. To do that well, if you want to use the BG Eraser, add your white or black layer underneath BEFORE you start erasing, then you can see what's happening "real time".

Me? I'd use a blending technique. See this thread for info.

Sounds like the tolerance wasn't high enough, or the texture formed something looking like edges....
