BinHex 4.0 PC to MAC

We use Illustrator CS and Acrobat 6.0 on the Windows side. I have received a number of files (EPS, PDF, etc.) from a studio we work with that will not open in any Adobe product we have. They use Macs. We use Windows.

Embedded in the files is a message:

"This file must be converted with BinHex 4.0". What is this and who should convert the file?

I think Alladin's Stuffit Expander (available by d/load from
[url]http://www.stuffit.com/win/expander/index.html[/url]) will decode for you
