    Default bitmap color depth?

    Hi,

I've created a Director movie. However, I imported all of the bitmaps at 24
bits color depth instead of 8 bits. Now, the file size of my movie is too
    large.
Is there any way to decrease the file size or do something to change the
    bitmaps without re-importing everything?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Jon

edit each bitmap in dir, and double click on "24 bits" area in lower right
of paint window : it opens a dialog allowing depth change

Just note that highly compressed jpeg 24bit images can be equally small or
even smaller than 8bit gif images.
The quality for equal file sizes depends on the source image.
