    Default BitTorrrent

Does anyone have any thoughts on why bittorrent might be not working on
    my new spangly Ubuntu box?

BT works on the laptop - which is behind the same router.

What are the symptoms? Are you having problems dl torrents or uploading?
Also, I'm kinda assuming you are using the built-in Gnome-Bittorrent
client on Dapper. Let us know if you're not.

The client fails to connect to the tracker (usually),very occasionally
it manages, but only connects to 1 or 2 peers.

I've tried both that, bittornado and azureus.

The router may be forwarding BT's ports to the laptop rather than the
    ubuntu box.

Well... I have a fix - just stuck the ubuntu box into the DMZ. Not
ideal, but it'll do for now!

It is very simple to fix the problem. The BT site has pointers to FAQ's for
    just about every model router.
