    Default Bleeds

Hey guys when I set the bleed value of a page, how do I know what units it
measures in? If I have the document set to inches, will the bleed value also
be in inches? Seems like an obvious answer but I need to be sure.
    Thanks.

Yes, the Bleed is in document unit of measurements. The bleed displays on
the pasteboard. If you turn on page rulers and zoom in in Keyline view, you
    check visually.

Thanks Judy. Why will it not let me make a bleed of more than one inch?

One inch is the max bleed. Are you still working on the large tiled map? How
    much overlap do you need?

Is your printer a Postscript printer? If so the usual way to tile would be
to put the entire map on a single page and use the Tiling controls in the
FHMX Print dialog. You could set Tile > Automatic > overlap up to 144 points
    (2 inches).

A good way to tile with more control is Manual tile. To do this you reset
the page origin for each tile that you print. It's helpful to first set
guides where you want the document to tile. Then drag the page origin from
the corner of the page rulers to set a new 0x 0y origin and use Manual Tile
    in the FHMX Print dialog.

The Output Area tool doesn't require a Postscript printer. Drawing
rectangles the exact size of the print area of the printer and sending that
to the guides layer, give you useful guides which you can drag around to
plan your tiling scheme. Then use the Output Area to define the current tile
to print. Check 'Print Area' in the FHMX Print dialog.
