Blue box around text and graphics
How do I turn off the blue box that appears around text and graphics? These boxes appear whether I have selected the object or not.

View/Hide Frame Edges
The menu item will change its name to Show Frame Edges which you can then use should you wish to see the edges later.

And changing to preview mode (an option in the tool palette, or type "w") is handy too. Good way to temporarily hide the fame edges and guides.

Re: Blue box around text and graphics
And if the pesky frame edges keep reappearing, it's likely that (forgetting that you're not in a Microsoft app) you're pressing Ctrl-H to display the Replace dialog - which is the shortcut key for show/hide frame edges in InDesign.
