Hi everybody,

I am a newcomer to this newsgroup, so I hope this is the right place to
post this question.

As the subject suggests, I am just interested in finding a good book /
article or a web page that would explain in as much detail as possible
the intricacies / suggestions / likely flaws, etc. of software
installation from source in UNIX. I am more or less used to installing
software in my own box, but soon I'll have to deal with installing first
in a test server and later to distribute it to the production server. I
have done it already, but I feel that I would benefit from reading a
good account of common problems, suggestions, etc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Angel de Vicente
