Book does not paginate in INCS2

Dear users -
I have never seen it in earlier versions but in CS2 making the book does not give me full pleasure.

I make three documents. I open a new book, name it and all that. Place it even in the same folder.
Then I add the three documents to the book. The pages in the book window does not re paginate. They all start with 1-something. Normally they re paginate in the book palette like: 1-8, 9-15, 16- and so on. Well, mine does not.

BUT the second actually does change the page numbers in the document. The third does NOT. It paginates in the document after the second.

Have I missed something? Thanks for listening

In Edit>Preferences>General do you have absolute numbering turned on? If yes, turn it off.

Also, when you have a document selected in the book, in the flyout menu of the book pallet go to Document Page Numbering Options... and make sure you have "automatic numbering" selected. Do this with each document in the book.

Thanks Fred, but it didn't help me out. Absolute numbering WAS turned on (I'm sure as a default) but I changed it to sections. No results.

Did you repaginate it again after changing the prefernece? It won't automatically change just by changing the preference.
