Default Book "Php 5 and Mysql Bible" - has anyone read and can recommend it?

I received this URL as part of Amazon's mass mailing to customers -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...7289043-3038850

Does anyone have any experience/recommendations of this book?

All the stuff I do is for UK non-profits, and mostly they are very glad for
whatever help they can get, while they have yet to ask for anything I have
been unable to provide </crosses fingers and toes>.

However, my library of 2003 published titles (written in 2002???) is getting
out of date all too rapidly, and I have a sneaking feeling I may be
short-changing the organisations by not introducing some extra
resources/options which the non-profit is, by the nature of things, relying
on me to suggest and provide.

Conscience is a terrible things, m'friends.

(I know of php.net and mysql.com)

I try to stay clear of javascript. Are there good reasons I should buy the
two-book package?

TIA.

Iain.

My personall belief is that there is so much information about PHP on the
web that buying a book is not entirely necessary for a 'update'. Use google
to find new tutorials and information online, you'll have much more
variable/new/commented/new/interesting information than that of a book (even
the best one).

If you really think that a book is worth it then... go out and buy it :) (i
did a few years ago) but not on these new 'world wide web' days.
