Book Synchronization & Swatches

I've got an 84 page catalog, It's divded into 9 major sections, each section has been assigned a color, and in each section, there is text & boxes that are color-matched.

We've decided to revamp the color scheme a bit, and I would like to be able to update all my colors at once. I'm using stylesheets, however, none of my styles assign colors, in hindsight I could see how updating my swatches and integrating color into my stylesheets would have been a good idea, but unfortunately that wasnt the case.

I opened up my master page in the book, loaded the new swatches, deleted the old swatches and told it to replace the old swatch colors with the new ones, one by one. This works fine for that page, but when I resynchronizing my book, the new colors were added to all the pages, but the old colors were not deleted.

I can see where the problem happened - not assigning colors in my stylesheets.

I guess what I'm looking for is a way to synchronize and delete the old swatches and replace them with the new ones. I'm not sure if this is even possible, as it seems the way swatches are synchronized only adds new swatches added to the master, but doesnt delete those that were deleted from the master.

Your colors will synchronize if you have the same color name; even tho the cmyk values are different.
