Bookings DB

Hi

I am attempting to build a bookings DB (Access 2000) using availability based
upon dates.
Right now I am hard coding dates in this format, inDate: (07/15/05) ,
OutDate: (07/22/05).

Question: What datatype (Access 2000) will I use to calculate things like
total days booked, and or availability queries between two dates. (above).

I will be using MS SQL at a later time ...
