I got a box brownie today. Going for digital to a real camera :) Just want to know where to get 120 film and where to get it developed in Perth. Also some prices would be handy if any one else is using a box brownie. Thanks...

I normally get my 120 film from PRA in Newcastle street in Northbridge.
Almost at the corner of lord Street.

You can get transparency developed at Bruno Zimmermans in Beaufort street
    for same day slides.

I normally get my prints done at Photoexpress in Claremont. (Was
Fletchers). They have a Fuji Frontier and can develop and print 120 neg,
print from 120 slide and burn either to CD. If you have transparency they
can send it to Halse and then burn or print when it comes back.

    G'day,

If I remember correctly the box brownie (50 years since I had one, but I
don't look that old!) takes 620 which has a different spool to 120.

    Cheers,
    Julian

50 years.. must have been a later edition ;)

The 1938-40ish one (A Box Brownie Junior) I play with is a Six-20 but can
use 120 film with some modifications to the spools (I have one 620 spool I
use for the take-up) To use a roll of 120 in it I grab a roll and file the
edges off (you'll see when you have a roll of 120 in your hand) and then go
around the outside of both end bits to reduce the diameter by about 2mm.
Brush off all the filings and it's ready to go! You might get a little bit
(1mm) of exposure along the edges but it seems to be ok.

    Cheers, Nige.
