Browser Integration Problem
For some reason, Acrobat 6 Standard will not release the browser integration. Whenever I pull up a pdf from the internet, it opens in my browser and not acrobat. I have checked the settings to 'Not display pdf in browser', but it still opens that way. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the product but get the same results. It is important that pdfs open in acrobat and not the browser. Please help. Please email me any suggestions at nguidry@jjma.com. Thank You.

Re: Browser Integration Problem
I think this is due to a browser plugin that needs to be moved out of the browser plugin location. I forgot the exact name, but it should have PDF as part of the name and is a DLL as I recall.

Re: Browser Integration Problem
I deleted the file in Internet Explorer Plugin folder, but it's still doing the same thing.
For all pdfs, under File Types\Advanced, we select the option of confirm open after download and we take browser integration off. After I uninstalled Acrobat 6 Standard, I went back to the pdf I was trying to open on the web and it did give the Open/Save/Cansel window, so I know that the confirm open after download is working. So I reinstalled Acrobat (after deleting the adobe folder out of PF and Common Files). Made sure browser integration was unchecked and tried again, but got the same results. I deleted the *pdf*.dll file from IE\Plugins and it's still doing the same thing. Any other suggestions?

Re: Browser Integration Problem
Try this and let us know if it works:
Look at Properties for C:\Program files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS and clear the "Archive" bit for the folder.
1. Using Explorer, select "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS".
2. Right mouse click on it and select "Properties"
3. Click on "Advanced..." button.
4. Uncheck "Folder is ready for archiving"
5. When you press "Apply", it will ask whether the effect should be just for this folder or all the sub folders below. Choose just this folder.
