Browser shows code, not content !!
Hi,
I'm starting to do web pages with dynamic content (in class) and one thing my
pc is doing is showing the code and not the design (tables, links, dataset
content, etc). Whenever I do a Bindings Dataset, I save the page and F12 it,
and boom....the browser (IE) shows the source code!! I delete the dataset and
resave the page and after I F12 it again, IE goes back to normal (shows the
table and whatever else). Anyone has a clue why?
I have IIS installed (as per our classbook "Application Development with
Macromedia Dreaweaver MX 2004 using ASP.NET" Appendix A and B (in case any of
you have the book)). By the way, I'm using Dreamweaver MX, on a PC running
Windows XP Professional.
You're supossed to create a blank document (new page, Dynamic, ASP.NET VB
type), then type anything in it and F12 it, and if it shows on the browser,
then you have the IIS thing working, since it's a ASP page and the borwser (IE)
renders it. Everything shows, up to the point when I add a Dataset (Bindings
panel). This is driving me a bit crazy. I try checking things on Dreamweaver
preference panel to see if maybe a setting was doing it, but I really couldn't
see anything obvious. After reading the book a bit more, it makes sense that
it's a server side problem, since the dataset is a server side behavior and
it's not doing it. But I really can't see what could be the reason. I
followed the installation of IIS by the book and nothing.
Any suggestion/ideas/corrections/clues will be greatly appreciated.
