Bug? Keyboard doesn't work in open dialog
Before I report this as a bug, I thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced this. I searched the forum, and found nothing.
I'm using Acrobat Pro 8 on Mac OS X 10.4.8, using a MacBook Pro with a Comfort external keyboard. When I open a file, Acrobat stops responding to the keyboard when the Open File dialog is open. The MBP still responds to the keyboard, but Acrobat will only respond to a mouse-click. This is very annoying, as I don't generally use a mouse when I can get away without it, as I have developed a serious shoulder injury from using a mouse.

Re: Bug? Keyboard doesn't work in open dialog
For me, the Open dialog responds to keyboard input (arrows,
command+period, Enter) as I would expect it to, and Acrobat doesn't
respond to anything - as I would expect it not to.

Re: Bug? Keyboard doesn't work in open dialog
One of us is misunderstanding the other. You appear to be saying that Acrobat DOES respond to the keyboard for you, although you say it doesn't, when the Open File dialog is open. Perhaps you do not consider Acrobat's Open File dialog to be part of Acrobat. I'm not sure why, but if that is what you are saying, then you confirm that not everyone always has the results I describe. But you don't say what version of Acrobat, Mac OS, computer, or keyboard you are using, so I can't tell if anyone using the same setup I have has a different result.

Re: Bug? Keyboard doesn't work in open dialog
Acrobat 8, Mac OS X.4 on Intel.
To clarify: Acrobat (the rest of Acrobat) does not respond, exactly as
I would expect. Only the open dialog responds, as I would expect.

Re: Bug? Keyboard doesn't work in open dialog
So Acrobat's Open File dialog responds to your keyboard. Are you using Acrobat 8? An Intel Mac? External keyboard?

Re: Bug? Keyboard doesn't work in open dialog
Ok. This helps. Because of your response, I quit Acrobat and re-started. After that, the keyboard response in the Open File dialog was slow, but it did work. So the issue may be after sleep, and/or disconnection/reconnection of the external keyboard.
