I have been putting up with the very annoying bug for well over a year or so. That marcomedia has thus far failed to produce a fix is the biggest factor keeping my from buying the latest dreamweaver version. I cant see giving them more $$$ when they cannot make the effort to fix such a pervasive and serious flaw in the 4.0 version. I can see why they might not want to go back and fix an older version BUT this bug existed and was known to them WAY back when 4.0 was the latest and greatest.

Has anyone figured out a workaround (other than use some other vendors program to manage your site?)

    DB2:

Have you recreated the site cache?

Can you give me a set of steps that will allow me to reproduce the problem
    on my system?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to refresh the site cache prior to doing the 'sync-with-delete' and it did not resolve the problem - DW still crashed with:

    AppName: dreamweaver.exe AppVer: 4.1.1121.0 ModName: mfc42.dll
    ModVer: 6.0.8665.0 Offset: 0005414f

(I can send a full dump if its helpful.)

I dont know how to tell you to re-create it as the scenario is pretty simple: synch to your ISPs ftp server (mine is AT&T) with a file that exists on the server but not on your local machine. Be sure to click on the synch option so that DW will attempt to delete remote files that no longer exist locally. When you actually do the synch, DW asks you to confirm that you really want to delete the file; click yes and DW will then crash with the above error (note the file does actually get deleted from the remote directory - although if you had multiple files to delete, only the first one is deleted).

If this does not happen for you can you confirm the version of the above module you have (mfc42.dll)?

This happened on win98 and later when I upgraded to XP it still persists (I've had this problem for quite some time).
