Building a printable Document
Hi there,
trying to describe my prob with Indesign ... I have a document with e.g. 10 pages A4 ... and I created them on A3 paper size to have e.g. site 2 and 3 nearby to layout everything quite well. So I have one A3 site with titel and back cover, then one A3 wih page 2 and 3 and so on ... now I had a function in Pagemaker where I could say assembly/fitting/mounting ... I don' know which is the right english expression, but PG 6.5 sorted all the pages in a new order so that I had them ready to give them to the printer. With my example above there should then be titel and back cover on one A3 page and page 2 and 9, then 8 and 3 and so on ... so that the printer can fold the printed pages and easy put them together ...
Now where do I find this functionality in Indesign?
Thx and hope you understand what I tried to describe :-)

Re: Building a printable Document
Oh dear, you are in a pickle and no mistake.
What you want to do is paginate.
Point 1. You don't need to paginate. The printer or pre-press bureau
should do that and usually they insist on doing it. If yours wants you
to do it find another one straight away.
Point 2. If your pages are A4, you really should have told InDesign to
use A4 paper and spreads. This would have kept your pairs together. Now
you are stuck with the wrong size of paper. It would be best to start
again and do things properly.
