building an app?? - Mac Programming

what would be the procedure to build and app like ffmpeg on a system i havent done this since unix days many years ago and i remember doing the config and then install but not how. got the config to run and created config.mak and now i am stuck just a quick outline and i will stumble along thanks jimt...

    Optional Extra:

    1.5. Go to <http://finkcommander.sourceforge.net/> and install Fink
    Commander.
    2. Tell Fink Commander to tell Fink to install ffmpeg for you.
