Fireworks MX. Im trying to create a 4 button state that when you get to
state 3 and CLICK it it brings up a pop up of text I created and the pop up
stays there untill you click another button....

OK let me break it down I have a 3 button menu all the buttons have
up,over, down, and over while down, states they all work perfect but when
I click them (causing them to go into the down state, they look pushed in)
I want a pop up below them to show up and stay there even if I move the
mouse around the page the only way I want the pop up to go away is if I
click another button, hence causing that buttons pop up to apper, I know
how to get the pop up to apper when I highlight the button but I want
it there when I push the button...any help wuld be much thankful. Ive
been trying for at least 2 hours. Thank you all.

    Thug:

Imagine this - your buttons are all set up as you describe with mouseOver
    events and rollovers.

Now - superimpose a layer (HTML positioned <div> tag) over each button, and
make it contain the DOWN image for that button. Hide those layers. Make
each button show its respective layer, and hide all the other layers
    onClick.

I think that does what you want.

link but thats not what im looking for... I didnt mean to sound as if I was
making a pop-up menu cause im not.... ill try this another way ok... you
know how when you highlight a button if its set to roll-over a image to the
right or left of it when you have your mouse hover over it? well since its a
button what happens if you push it? nothing right? well how about a few
buttons lined up any as you move across the a diffrent roll over happens as
you move the mouse over each of the... ok what im geeting at is the push
button part instead of when you move your mouse off it the roll over
dissappers I want it to stay if you PUSH the button and only dissapper if
another button is pushed.... ill look for a url with that example while im
waiting on a reply and thx alot for your previous reply...

If you are doing this in Fireworks, do not use the button editor to make
your buttons. Make them manually, with Swap Image behaviors. In the Swap
image editor, uncheck the Restore Image onMouseOut button. Make button
number 2 restore the up state of button 1, onClick. Do the same with
button 2, but have button 1 restore the up state of button 2, onClick.

    Linda:

The problem with that is the rollover. As soon as you mouse off of button2
(even after clicking to set the down state) the rollover will kick it back
    to the up state.
