Button Over State not Working

I am new to dreamweaver and related products.
I created a button in fireworks. The button has two states Up and Over. The
button works fine in Fireworks. I saved it as a png and stored it in my
subfolder images.

I inserted the button into a cell in Dreamweaver.
I preview my page in my browser i.e. the UP state looks ok but when i put the
mouse over the button the Over state does not work. I have consulted several
articles and books and i have walked through each example step by step and i
still can not get the Over state to show.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you explicitly export the button as an 8 bit PNG image? Don't use a
native FW PNG on the web, please - they are much to large.

In addition, you'll have many times fewer questions at this point if you do
not use FW HTML. Just export your graphics from FW and build your page in
DW.
