Button text change, Mac to Win - Macromedia Director Basics

Dear Folk: When I open the same file in Windows that I worked on on a Mac,button titles (text visible in the button on the stage) aren't big enough to fit in the width of the button, so some characters move to a second line, which s everything up. Default Button text change, Mac to Win

    Dear Folk:

When I open the same file in Windows that I worked on on a Mac,button titles
(text visible in the button on the stage) aren't big enough to fit in the width
of the button, so some characters move to a second line, which s
    everything up.

On both platforms, the property inspector shows the same embedded font, same
font size (14), and same button width, but it doesn't fit on Windows and does
    on Mac.

Any idea what's going on and how I can fix this without having to resize the
buttons (I have dozens of these buttons, and space is at a premium, too).

    Thank you.

Drop the font size to 13.

Fonts tend to differ some between the OSs. I believe this was address to some extent in Director MX 2004, but I am not sure if it was completely resolved.

The toolwindow button object uses 'live' text that can render
differently on diferent systems. Having a little extra margin left for
text groth is a good practice.

One alternative is to select the button members and apply modify menu
convert to bitmap command, thet set the hilite when clicked property of
the bitmaps ( I had to touch up the top border above tet on my system)

Yes, that was so simple, and I knew about the convert to bitmap command. Converting to bitmap and hilite when clicked does it for me very well, thank you so much.
