    Default C Set ++ in AIX5L??

    May I know if AIX5L bundles with C set ++ complier?
    Has IBM stopped the product C Set ++? is it true that everyone must
    move to Visulage C++ in AIX5L?

    Thanks.

    The compiler hasn't been bundled since AIX 4.1. It still is _not_.

    The version 3 compiler is not supported on AIX 5L, and I'm pretty
    sure isn't even supported anymore. In fact you'll
    be moving to VAC++ version 6, the current product level.

    In fact, as I recall, the C Set ++ compiler is not even a
    standard-conforming C++ compiler according to the current language
    standard.

    That's because the current standard is from '99 IIRC, and Cset
    was a product in the mid nineties. It adhered to a either a
    draft standard or the ARM, both of which are old.

    Yes, I believe that's the case. The VisualAge products replace the C
    Set ++ products. I believe the current version of VisualAge is up to
    6.x.
