Calendar for 2005
I am looking for a Calendar template for 2005. The calendar will have a month of each page for the 12 months. Does anyone have a script or template for that

Re: Calendar for 2005
There are a couple of scripts (in my opinion, better than a template) available at the Adobe studio Exchange <http://studio.adobe.com>.

Re: Calendar for 2005
I would like a script for this too, but the only one I've seen on Adobe
Studio Exchange for CS is only for Mac, and I need a Windows version.

Re: Calendar for 2005
Hmm. Not finding a template for InDesign Windows or Mac. Found one for Illustrator.
You may bring it up in the InDesign Scripting forum. It may jump-start someone.

Re: Calendar for 2005
I believe that the point was to find a calendar script to work within
InDesign.

Re: Calendar for 2005
I once used a trinket that created calendars in Excel. It might have been a resident MSOffice wizard. Create your calendar table in Excel and then place that XLS file into InDesign.
Here are some pre-made XLS calendars:

Re: Calendar for 2005
You don't need a script. It's very easy to set up a calendar using a grid of linked text frames. Make a grid template, enter sequential numbers from 1-31 separated by the Enter key, set the month at the top and the days of the week (SMTWTFS) above the columns, and--once you're happy with the design--copy the final template to a library. Then just drag the template onto your live pages, use the Enter key to nudge the first of the month to the appropriate day of the week, delete days as needed (i.e., February has only 28 days), and key in the month.
I just created an 18-month calendar last week for a customer--it took me all of about two hours, including creating the design and double-checking the days and months against my computer's calendar. If you don't want to do it yourself, I could probably be bribed into sending you a generic template.

Re: Calendar for 2005
And it's even easier using InDesign's table features. (I used to use the linked text frames while in QuarkXPress 4; I happily gave it up when InDesign tables showed up.)

Re: Calendar for 2005
Steve's right. I used frames instead of a table so I could apply a light drop shadow beind every cell, but for a simpler design a table would be even easier than linked text frames.
