Can I do a license downgrade from CS to 10?

I'm doing volunteer work for a science museum. They've been using Illustrator - three machines, 1 with 8 and two with 10. This January they had a need for another workstation which I helped set up. They bought a copy of CS since it was the only thing avialable. The text conversion problem is a showstopper. An outside company they work with uses version 8 and is not willing to spend on CS. Frankly nobody is very happy about spending more money just because Adobe has made a huge interoperability problem. Does the CS license allow the use of previous versions of Illustrator on the same machine or do I have to go out and find a copy of 10 from somewhere?

I'm sure the new text engine is great and wonderful but it's killing me.

You can install both versions using AI 8 in classic.

You cannot downgrade, but you might be able to find a copy of 10 on ebay, or in a store. Keep your copy of CS, though. It will eventually be the standard.

I think she means if she can have CS running on the same computer with v* and the answer is yes you can.

But you just might get pretty use to AI CS.

You sure can. I have them both open (and sometimes 8, too), and I use them about equally every day.
