Can I read newsgroups with the OS X terminal? - Mac Applications & Software

I was just wondering, because I'm a Mac-lover who's all of the sudden been dumped into OS X (which I love) and it's taking me a while to discover the OS's nuances....

There are a variety of shell newsreaders-check out some of those available

(http://www.slrn.org), but I think you need to tweak it a bit to get it to
    compile in OS X.

There are a variety of newsreaders that run from the command line, and
the best way to get one is probably via Fink.

However, it's my personal opinion that you're better off using one with
a GUI. There are a number of good ones available. And I'm someone who
uses the Mac OS X command line all the time.

What did you do when you got to the point where it asked where your C
libraries were (after not being able to find them in the default
    directories)?
