    jj, if you are using FW MX '04, you can use the Star autoshape in the tools
    panel. You can adjust the number of points and the depth of them quite
    easily.

    Fill the star with a *wave* gradient, and choose - for starters - the copper
    preset gradient colours, to give you that reflective look. Add a sharp drop
    shadow from LIVE EFFECTS.

    Create the embossed effect by drawing a vector ellipse, filling the ellipse
    with black and add a very narrow, hard inner bevel.

    Import or create a new vector shape that will act as your design, select
    both the design and the ellipse and choose MODIFY > COMBINE PATHS > PUNCH
    to punch through the black circle, so that the copper gradient is visible
    beneath.
