Can students cheat SCORM courses?

I understand that online courses created with Dreamweaver MX 2004 /
CourseBuilder / SCORM Runtime Wrapper use JavaScript to communicate with the
LMS. Can savvy students use this fact to cheat? For example, can they send
their own completion status to the LMS by executing their own JavaScripts
(perhaps via the browser address bar, or otherwise)?

I tried, but couldn't make it happen. But then, I'm no expert in this field,
and I was wondering if someone with strong knowledge in this area could give me
a straight answer. Just because I can't do it doesn't mean someone else can't!
