Can't export to jpg - Macromedia Fireworks

Hi all, FW newbie question time. I'm working with some eps format files, and I need to convert them to jpg. When I try to export them, FW MX does not offer the option of jpg format (or even gif). There's a bunch of formats in the drop-down, but none that I can use. I don't get it Jpg and gif obviously are the most common formats for Internet use. What am I missing here? Thanks, Larry123...

    Hi Larry,

Try opening your optimize panel, and setting up your desired jpg compression
there, then it will export your file as a jpg.

    Aloha,

    Hi Jerry,

I have jpg selected and configured in the Optimize panel, but it doesn't
change anything. When I click File>Export, jpg is not there as an option in
    the Save As Type dropdown.

    Hi Larry,
No worries, just select "images only" from that dropdown - if you have
optimized it as a jpg, it will be one. Try it and see.
    Aloha,
    Jerry

I figured it out. If I go to File>Export Preview instead of File>Export,
then I can export to jpg.

What I don't get is why FWMX doesn't allow jpg export from File>Export. Must
    be a Macromedia thing. :-)

It does allow it, it's just not intuitive. FW automatically exports your images
to whatever you've "optimized" them as.
