Can't open files that were saved in Beta version - Adobe Indesign Windows

Several years ago I was using a beta version of Indesign (I think it was version 2.0) and I created several doents including a resume and portfolio. Now I have the full version of both 2.0 and CS1. When I try to open these files that were created in the trial version I get the following error: Cannot open "filename" Doent was edited by a pre-release version of Indesign I found this while searching google. <http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/326476.html> I used the beta at my previous employer and obviously I had nothing to do with the Beta program personally, so I don't know ...

I used the beta at my previous employer and obviously I had nothing to do with the Beta program personally, so I don't know who the Adobe Pre-Release Software Program coordinator was or any specifics.

Is there any way to save my files? I've got alot of hours in that portfolio and would hate to have to redo it.

You'll need to check with your former employer's beta coodinator.
There's nobody else who can help you.

I was told by someone that files created with trial versions of Indesign can't be opened up later in the unlocked version of Indesign. Was this a beta program or a trial version? Maybe the same applies to both versions? Anyone know.

That is incorrect. The trial version files should open just fine in the
    full retail version.

Betas should not be used to produce files for production. Only beta tester got access to a method to convert them in retail versions. But how it was done it was different in each version.
If you are not an official beta tester you will not be able to open or convert these files.
