Can't open Mac FH doent with Windows FH - Macromedia Freehand

Whenever my friend sends me artwork she created using Max FreeHand I can't open it using my Windows FreeHand. We're both using the latest versions. Here's the message I get, "Could not covert the doent because the file is not a valid FreeHand doent." I've tried importing, she's tried exporting. Nothing seems to work. The icon is a FH icon, so it's being associated as a FH doent, but if I try to open it it bocks. Any ideas?...

If the files are being sent by email, compress them with Stuffit or Zipit
before sending. Make sure to decompress them on the receiving end.

Some Windows systems require the correct filename extension.

    Judy,

Thank you. She is using Stuffit, and I'm using WinRar. I've tried WinZip and
Stuffit Expander as well, but it's the same result. The funny thing is it's
only the .eps file that is doing this. She sends a copy in.tif, psd, and
..eps format. All open correctly but the .eps file. Very strange.

OK. After I sent that last post I was thinking about file extensions. So I
fiddled with the file extensions and finally got it to open as a .fh10 file.
So there is a work around....
