Can you get Safari on a CD?
My parents, who live about 3000 miles away, have a beta version of
Safari that has expired. They also only have a modem connection to the
internet and know absolutely nothing about computers. (I'm worried that
they may goof something up in the long download process). I've been
trying to give them instructions about updating using "Software Update",
but they just haven't been able to do it yet. I tried sending them a
copy of the application alone on a CD that I had burned, but when they
did a click and drag onto their computer, it didn't work. Is there a
type of installation disk with Safari that I could buy or download so
they could install it from that instead of from the internet. Or does
anybody have any other ideas for super super easy ways to install the
program?

The result is a .dmg. Burn that file to a CD and send them the CD. When
they get it, have them phone you; walk them through the instructions for
doing the installation (which you should practice in the meantime so you
know what to tell them). m.
