    Default Cannot access

    hi,
I am new to dreamweaver and am haveing some problems with coldfusion. I have
designed a site to get to familiar with Dreamweaver which was a going well till
i decided i wanted dynamic pages which need either local/remote server access.

Becuase i am running Windows XP which does'nt support IIS. I have downloaded
Coldfusion MX7 web server and Apache Application server, i have followed all
instructions to install & configure Coldfusion, however when i try to select a
data source and try to input my password nothing happens.

Can anyone help I have tried everything i can think of please help.

I have had a look in Start > control panel > administrator tools > services
and there does'nt seem to be any databases install. Could this be the problem
even though the book i'm learning from supplies data?

    Many thanks

    Junior

FIrst, you do not need Apache Server. ColdFusion 7 and Windows XP play together
quite nicely. I have used this combination for several months now without any
    problems.

What do you see when you go into the ColdFusion Administrator with your
password and look at "Data & Services" and "Data Sources"? That is where you
add your databases, including any password if you need one to access the
    database.

Let me know if you find that or if you have any more problems. I also use
Dreamweaver 8 with this combination and everything works great.

    Have fun and good luck.

It's possible the OP is running on XP Home which doesn't have IIS and it can't
    be installed on it.

i was having the same issues af first. i started using coldfusion mx 6.1 and
when i try to reach the admin page i was denied. i then downloaded MX7 and
change dreamweaver to work with mx 7 which should be using port 8501. it might
be that.. change ur port configuration and it should work.
