Default Cannot change dictionary - InDesign 2.02

Strange problem occuring - I recently installed the complete set of dictionaries from the original InDesign 2.0 cd, but I,m unable to change dictionray from English to Norwegian or anything else. The Edit - prefs - dicts tab accepts changes ok, but when I try doing the actual spellchecking the dictionary is still in english. Would gratly appreciate a fix - or tip about what to do.

Default Re: Cannot change dictionary - InDesign 2.02

You need to apply the language to the text. The preferences don't change the language of the text in your document, they just set-up various defaults associated with the language you display.

Use the Character palette or apply the language by style. Note that the same paragraph can have a mix of languages within it.

Thanks Dave, this did the trick. Simple and easy when you know how to do it.
