Cannot Create a new Page
Step 1: Press "New Page" button
Step 2: Choose template and Enter Title
Step 3: look at Error Dialog box
"Contribute was unable to create the page because an unknown error occurred"
Of course my only choice is a button saying "Ok"...And it's not.
Should be basic functionality in a program like this...any one have any
suggestions?

Re: Cannot Create a new Page
what about having the admin create a very simple Dreamweaver template file
(DWT) and upload it to the templates file on the server? You may try creating a
new page based on this template and publishing it in Contribute - this will
help us determine if this is a file-specific issue.
This can also be specific to one machine only. Try replicating this in another
computer. If the error comes up with the other computer, we may have to test
for possible server issues or network/account issues.
In troubleshooting possible computer specific issues, one of the things that
you can look into is the Application Data folder since this is where Contribute
saves the local site settings. Verify if the Application data folder is in the
local machine and make sure that it is not set to ?read-only?. The location of
the said folder is usually in:
Windows XP: C:Documents and SettingsusernameApplication DataMacromedia

Re: Cannot Create a new Page
hi.. we may need to do some isolation to resolve this issue.. are you having
the same problem when creating a blank page or when creating a page from the
starter pages? what software did you use to create your templates? what are
your folder and file permissions? what is your general set-up?

Re: Cannot Create a new Page
The template i am trying to choose is one supplied with Contribute.
folder and file permissions are whatever the system does. I do not know
anything about those. They are not changed. What folders and files should i
look for there are a lot of folders on my system.
I get the same error trying to create a blank page.
What 'general set-up' are you talking about? I have installed Contribute on my
Mac. I managed to create a single page. My website is connected by ftp to my
ISP. I get the same message when trying to do this online or offline.

Re: Cannot Create a new Page
try deleting your _mm and 'TMP..' folder and recreating all your connections..
Then delete your local drafts and configurations folder.
check http://www.macromedia.com/go/16657 for folder locations..
