Cannot create multiple page pdf from 2 files.

Default Cannot create multiple page pdf from 2 files.

I recently scanned a brochure to convert to a .PDF. It was a photomerge scan in Photoshop CS where each side of a longer document was scanned and then merged back into a longer page and single file (panorama style). Machine is Mac dual G4 1.25GHz 2 GB RAM , OS 10.3.9.

Each file was saved in Photoshop as a Photoshop PDF and then opened in Acrobat 6.02 and resaved as Adobe PDF's.

I tried combining both into a 2 page PDF with "Create pdf" from multiple files. Both files were open in Acrobat but when selected both files to combine I got the message:

"No pdf was created <file name> does not exist. Please remove it from list." The same message gotten when trying each file by itself.

The files are open and are visible on the desktop but I can't combine them as I have many other documents numerous times before. The only different I can see is that they are not standard page size (one 9.18 in x 15.36 in) and the other (8.00 x 13.6).

Is this an important factor? When printing a proof in photoshop I had just reduced the lengths to 13 in and could fit them on legal sheets. Can someone tell me what I've overlooked here? I can't understand how something can't exist when it's open, shows in the window menu, and can be resized.

    Many thanks,

The page size should have nothing to do with it. I have created multi-page PDFs that literally have thousands of pages, some pages over 40" wide others are less than an inch. These PDFs were created using every supported format. No problems. The step you took to resave as Adobe Acrobat PDFs was the right thing to do. It makes no sense that you can't bind these two PDFs. Is it possible for you to post the PDFs someplace?

At this time I don't have my own website. I just bought .Mac when I ordered Tiger from Apple but haven't had the time to get it set up. Too busy to get to it. I'm going to try to open Acrobat in one of my partitions that still has 10.3.8 running. That's the system I last used to batch a bunch of PDF files. The problem could be with 10.3.9. And the brochure is over 35 MB so even e-amil is out.

For what it's worth my install of Tiger to a completely erased drive isn't working either and that will keep me busy for even more time. Thanks for the reply.

I try to bind files from many PDF forms. I select the files to add and then try to create the new file. Every time I do this, I get the first page repeated 10 times instead of 10 different pages.

This is by design, if the forms have the same field names.

Is there a way that I can combine these completed forms into one document? Do I have to rename fields in order for this to happen?

You could rename fields, but it would probably be quicker to "flatten"
the forms. One way to flatten a form is to print it to PDF, so it is
    just a regular, non-fillable, PDF.

I have used acrobat pro to combine files into a multipage doc for quite some time. I am suddenly unable to combine documents into multipage pdfs, regardless of file size, saving options, or where they came from. I have been doing updates to the entire Adobe Creative Suite version 4. No remedy to this problem yet.
