Default Cannot edit text in scanned documents

I cannot edit text or create new text in scanned documents. When I use distiller on a Word document it works fine.

Default Re: Cannot edit text in scanned documents

That is because you do not have text. A scanned document is simply a graphic image of whatever was scanned. If you want text you will have to run OCR on the image. Within Acrobat, that would be the use of the paper Capture plug-in. You did not indicate what version of Acrobat that you have. That may make a difference for AA6 in terms of Std and Pro, I am not sure if it is available in Std. In AA5, you can download the paper Capture plug-in. Simply run paper Capture on up to 50 pages and it will do a basic OCR of your document. After the run, go to the tools>text touch-up and review the needed corrections. After done, do a SAVE AS.
