Cannot export CMYK TIFF??? - Macromedia Freehand

Hi everybody, I am trying to export artwork as TIFF from Freehand MXa and I only get RGB files, even if I used CMYK colors in the FH doent. Is there a way to specify CMYK as an export option for TIFF files? Thanks, Tudor...

No. FHMXa exports only RGB TIFF files.

If you have Photoshop, you can export as EPS and open that in Photoshop.
Another method is to copy from FreeHand using Copy Special as "EPS
converting RGB to CMYK" and paste into a Photoshop CMYK doent.

Aaarghh... looks like Freehand IS more for the web stuff indeed...

I would really rely on photoshop to generate your CMYK bitmaps. The easiest thing to do is to use the copy special command like Judy said, and paste as pixels into photoshop. Seems like for most things FH only makes RGB images, and EPS is the only CMYK way to go.

Keep in mind that this FHMX update is only a .0.1 update and is really a bug fix rather than a true product changing facelift. I would certainly add your voice to the wishlist for CMYK output for all rasters.

Who posts TIFFs on the Web, RGB or otherwise? What browsers can read them?

I was talking about the RGB-only output. That's not acceptable for a
professional tool meant to be used for print jobs also (????).
