Cannot import corel draw files

Hi All,

I have Free Hand MXa, and tons of corel draw files. Though the documentation says it will import them i get a "this is not a valid freehand document"

I have tried exporting as corel 11,10 - no luck!

Anyone have a work around? I tried to export to adobe Ill. but it seems to lose the paragraph text and make every word its own text object (nightmare)

any help would be greatly apprecaited.

FreeHand can open files saved in the uncompressed CorelDRAW 7 or 8 format.
Is that what you're trying to open? Were the files compressed when saved?

Investigate the compression in the Corel file. I had huge problems till I
"Saved as" (or exported - can't remember) and ensured that there was no
compression of any sort in text, bitmaps or vector in CD. Then FH9 opened
the files perfectly.
