Default Cannot open .indd files since 4.0.3 update...

Hello-After I installed the 4.0.3 updates I am unable to open any of my .indd files. The error message is 'Cannot open the document "<name>" You may not have permission or it may be open..." and it goes on. It's not open, nor is it locked. - Now, these files were created on a PC and were able to be opened on my intel mac until I did the update.
Is my only solution to re-install InDesign and not do the update?
